Feast Day Plans

Welcome!

We have a lot in common

When we started having children we questioned what was coming into our home and bodies. We entered the beginning stages of modern homesteading. As the years go on we add to our operations. We thrive in manual labor, feeling satisfied after long days of moving lumber and working in the soil. Our dinner plates look different. Our ingredients are sourced thoughtfully. And most satisfying, the more we discover, we learn that the best things for our bodies and home are the very things God provided and instructed us to do.

Modern homesteading isn’t just a fad- it is actually reconnecting with normalcy and synchronizing our lives with nature the way God intended. In our opinion, humans took a several-decade break and hopped on a convenience trend. Today, many families are leaving that trend behind and caring for their families the way humans did for thousands of years.

Homesteading

It’s not a fad. It is a return. There is a movement of people walking away from materialism, toxicity and convenience. We are re-discovering the food, medicine and natural lifestyle God provided.

Home Cooking

We prefer to harvest our food from start to finish and serve only healing food at our table. Sourdough, cooking over fire, and home-raised animal products are essential on our homestead.

Homemaking

When we care for our homes and serve those in it, we are pleasing the Lord. We extend our homemaking to places like The Saint and hope we are welcoming guests with warmth and true hospitality.

Home Building

Building our own homes is a lost art, and we dream of constructing our own solid foundations and living spaces that will last for generations. We are still studying, but happy to share resources.

Homeschooling

We want to raise our children in the home, with the protection, love and prayer only caregivers can offer. We believe in education through real-life skills, and socialization within real communities.

Homesteading Tips from our Ancestors

We are grateful for the sacrifices our ancestors made when they came to America. We are indebted to their bravery. We like to learn from their homesteading skills and apply them to our own.

A Little Dream

Saint feasts on the homestead with guests

Someday, we hope to host other families around our table to celebrate the Saints and pay Thanksgiving through curated dishes and warm comradery. In the meantime, we learn. We practice. We submit to hard experiences. We imagine a long table, fine china and a humbling view. We pray for strangers to come together and toast to the heroes that paved the narrow path. And, without a doubt, a feast that transports us all to a place in time and tradition with thoughtful dishes and cooking methods.
